Details

Also known as Laurel leaf, our Redman Bay Leaves are from Turkey and have been obtained from Bay Laurel plants. It is a rich source of potassium, magnesium and calcium. Regular consumption of bay leaves can promote good health. This product is available in packets of 100g and 500g.

How to use
These leaves are not generally eaten but are rather simmered in a sauce or included in a braising liquid, and then removed before serving. A bay leaf is sometimes ground into a powder and used almost like a spice. Bay leaves can also be crushed or ground before cooking. Crushed bay leaves impart more fragrance than whole leaves, but are more difficult to remove, and thus they are often used in a muslin bag or tea infuser. Bay leaves were used for flavouring by the ancient Greeks. They are a fixture in the cooking of many European cuisines particularly those of the Mediterranean, as well as in the Americas. They are used in soups, stews, meat, seafood, vegetable dishes, sauces and tea.
