Gula Melaka is commonly used in Southeast Asian cuisine in both sweet and savoury dishes. It is mixed in batter as a sweetener for desserts and cakes, used as a deep flavoured smoky sweet topping, or often paired with coconut for a winning combination. It is also great for pancakes and waffles. For savoury dishes, gula melaka is often used to create depth in items like curries and stews.


Also known as gula melaka sauce, or palm sugar sauce, our Redman Conutsu is a product of Singapore and halal-certified. One of Conutsu's most appealing trait is its low glycemic index, making it a healthier option as compared to other sugars and sweeteners. Dark brown in colour, gula melaka could have hints of sourness, smoke, chocolate, caramel, butterscotch, and coffee flavour, or any combination of the above, depending on the type of palm it is collected from and the method of processing used. This product is available in packets of 480g and 6.5kg.

How to use
Gula melaka sauce is used in asian desserts such as Cendol, Pandan Gula Melaka jelly and kuehs (cake) like Onde Onde, Kueh Dadar and Pulut Inti. For savoury recipes, gula melaka is used to flavour dishes like Ayam Pongteh, Pineapple Curry and Pork Trotters in Vinegar.
