GROUND HAZELNUT 250G
Whilst Hazelnut flour can be substituted for wheat flour, it can be used with wheat flour for a firmer structure. When used with wheat flour, substitute no more than 1/4 of wheat flour than is required in the recipe. As hazelnut flour and other nut flours lack the gluten which helps baked goods rise, when they are used on their own without wheat flour, the amount of leavening agent used will need to be increased. Hazelnut flour can be widely used on its own to create limitless possibilities in the kitchen.
How to Use
Recipe suggestions include typical favourites like decadent pancakes or waffles, hazelnut brownies, hazelnut macarons, granola bark, double chocolate hazelnut cookies or a flavourful piecrust. It can be used it to batter fried chicken and fish for rich flavour, or even bulk up vegetable burgers or used in place of breadcrumbs for meatballs.
Some good alternatives to hazelnut flour include almond flour, plain flour or quinoa flour.
