Description
Raw sugar is attained from palm or sugarcane trees. Juice is first extracted from the tree, and then later boiled to the point when all moisture evaporates and only the solid form of the raw sugar remains. It has a coarser texture that helps to give the baked goods a little texture and crisp, making the sugar a great topping. Aside from being one of the main ingredients in your baked goods, it can also be sprinkled on top of a savoury dish for that added sweetness. This should be stored in an airtight container in a dry and cool place.
How to use
It is used as a finishing sugar, giving an appetizing and pastry-shop look to the final product. Alternately, raw sugar is used as a sweetener for beverage and should be mixed in till fully dissolved.
