Description

Hazelnuts are nutritious and rich in calories, fat, fibre and vitamins like vitamin B, thiamin, vitamin E, manganese, magnesium, copper and omega-3 fatty acids. As hazelnut skins have a bitter taste, most recipes involve the use of blanched hazelnuts instead of regular hazelnuts. These whole hazelnuts have a crispy texture and add a nice crunch to the end product. They have a sweet taste and a distinct nutty flavour. Our hazelnuts do not contain any preservatives, additives or added salt. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

How to use

They can also be chopped or used as sweet and savoury topping options for salads, cereal, yoghurt or ice cream. Whole hazelnuts can be used to add some crunch to cookies, and can also be ground to substitute plain flour in batter mixes. They also work well to coat meat like fish or chicken.

Suggested Recipes

These hazelnuts can be used in spreads, desserts or even in the form of a topping as a nice finish to your dessert. Recipe suggestions include delicious French spreads like hazelnut praline paste, heavenly chocolates like hazelnut truffles, comforting cookies like Hazelnut chocolate chunk cookies, and cake favourites like hazelnut cream, crunch cakes or hazelnut fudge brownies. Grinding these hazelnuts and including them in pastries, tortes and tarts would be a great option. Adding chopped or roasted hazelnuts to salads would certainly be delicious as well.

Alternatives

Some good alternatives to ground hazelnut include other nuts like almonds or walnuts.

Suitable For
