Online Hands-On: Lemon Cake & French Peach Tart

This simple lemon cake has a moist, dense, and refreshing citrus flavour that helps to balance both sweetness and richness of the cake. While being tucked under a layer of lemon glaze, the cake emits a sweet and zingy taste that will certainly perks your day up!

Often seen as a perfect afternoon high-tea snack, this tasty peach tart is combined with a buttery crust and topped with peaches. While being a very simple start out baking recipe, the tart consists of a cream filling that gives a irresistable bite that urges you for more!

Duration: 3 .5 hours

Finished Product: 2 loaves of cake and an 8" round tart

Type: Online Hands-on

Level: Intermediate - Participants must have some prior experience in baking chiffon, butter and sponge cakes. 

This class is conducted in English only. 

Internet: 

Please ensure that you have a strong enough internet connection to ensure that class goes smoothly and finished on time for everyone. We will not  be able to hold up class if your internet is not working. 

Zoom:

Please ensure to get acquainted with the Zoom application before class as we will not be able to trouble shoot.

Ingredients:

Most ingredients will be provided and delivered to the delivery address a minimum of  two days before class.  However, if the recipe calls for fresh fruits or vegetables, you will need to purchase those on your own.  The ingredients list will be provided to you closer to the class.

Please ensure that you have the standard equipment mentioned below before joining the class, in case you are missing some of the items, you can use the suggested alternative equipment as an option.

Adolescent Policy:
Adolescents 12 - 17 years old can enrol for class without an accompanied adult. If an adult wishes to accompany the adolescent, the adult must enrol as well.

Children Policy: Children aged 9 – 11 years old can enrol for class but must be accompanied by a paid adult

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Only paid and registered participants may join the class.

The class starts on time. If the class has already started for 20 mins or more, latecomers will not be admitted to the class. No refunds will be given.

General social etiquette and decorum during class are expected from each participant.

Are Bookings Refundable?

All confirmed bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable. 

Transfers to another class is not available for online classes. 

No refunds or transfers will be given for unattended classes.

Chef Patrick is a veteran in area of cakes, bread and pastries. He helmed the fort as a pastry chef in the hotel industry for over 15 years. He travels often to Cambodia and Philippines to conduct demos and training for the REDMAN brand. Amidst his busy schedule, he continued to impart his wealth of knowledge and love for the trade to his students at Phoon Huat for almost 20 years and still loving what he does.
